Bison as Guests

Kudos to Ted Turner for hosting over 50 bison on his private ranch in Montana. I’ve actually driven past some of his land in Montana and see some of his own herd of bison. (Beautiful part of Montana, all though what part of the state isn’t?)

Of course, there are critics to this move. Suggesting that housing these bison on Turner’s land is privatizing Montana wildlife. For more on this story, visit this Discover News site.

A Chalupa?

No. Its chihuahua.

Imagine the first day of school for any young chihuahua. Other dogs laughing at your name. Trying to spell it. The teacher butchering the pronounciation during roll. How embarassing.

Then there is the chihuahua who retires to a relaxing state, far from the hustle and bustle of today’s world. Ginger. She enjoys long walks in Bozeman, Montana as well as avoiding mountain lions, bears and various other predators. None of which ever bother to say “chihuahua” correctly.

Dinosaurs in the Big Sky

If you’re ever in the Bozeman, MT area, you should surely take a trip to the Museum of the Rockies. They have a fantastic collection of dinosaur artifacts. Paleontologist and curator Jack Horner, science advisor to the Jurassic Park films, has led the teams that have excavated many fossils which are prepared and studied at the museum.
